Kérastase Blond Absolu Cicaplasme is a leave-in heat-protecting serum for blonde, bleached and highlighted hair. Kérastase says it protects hair from heat styling up to 230°C while smoothing frizz. Apply it to damp lengths and ends before blow-drying or air-drying.
How it works
A conditioning silicone (amodimethicone) coats the hair and smooths the surface, which is what tames frizz and cushions the fibre against heat. Hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate) and edelweiss flower extract are in the formula for hydration. The ingredient list also includes a violet colourant (Ext. Violet 2), but Kérastase does not sell this as a toner.
Who it suits
- Blonde, bleached or highlighted hair that is blow-dried, straightened or curled
- Frizz-prone lengths that need smoothing without a heavy oil
What it will not do
- It will not make heat harmless. Bleached hair is porous and fragile, so use the lowest heat that works even with a protectant.
- It will not tone yellow. Use Bain Ultra-Violet for that.
- It is not a repair treatment. It is a styling step that protects; the repair comes from the mask and conditioner.
Good to know
It contains fragrance (including limonene, linalool and citronellol) and isopropyl alcohol. Keep it to lengths and ends rather than the scalp.
